The New Jersey Devils-MeiGray Group Game-Worn Authentication Program is auctioning the pairs of retro socks worn by the Devils on March 18, 2011, when a sellout crowd of 17,625 at Prudential Center in Newark, NJ on Retro Night saw the popular red, white and green jerseys for the first time this season, and only the second time since 1992.
Nineteen pairs of socks worn by players who played in the 3-0 loss to the Washington Capitals, as well as one pair of socks worn by Mark Fraser, who skated in the warm-up but did not dress for the game, are now up for bid.
The MeiGray Group Game-Worn Jersey Authentication Program is proud to offer collectors across the globe the opportunity to own a piece of history …… the actual pair of socks worn by #26 Patrik Elias of the New Jersey Devils during “Retro Night” on March 18, 2011.
This retro pair of socks, a Size XL, is registered into the MGG Game-Worn Jersey Authentication Program as number 144413.
Every jersey worn throughout the 2010-11 NHL season by the Devils contains a uniquely numbered inventory tag sewn into the jersey BEFORE IT IS WORN BY THE PLAYER ON THE ICE. This tag is equipped with covert security features regularly checked by Devils-MGG Program Directors so we can tell who wore the jersey, and when.
