Welcome to the Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation 2012 Christmas Charity Online Auction in support of the Christmas Bureau of Edmonton and charities across Oil Country ! Show your support by bidding on this Ales Hemsky #83 - Autographed 2009 Mens World Hockey Championships Czech Republic Game Worn Helmet. This royal blue Nike Bauer helmet was worn by Hemsky during for the championships held in Switzerland from April 24th to May 10th, 2009. The helmet shows good game use however is missing the original visor worn for the tournament along with a few of the national team and sponsor decals worn on the helmet as they were stripped from the helmet following the tournament while Hemsky skated in preparation for the 2009-10 Edmonton Oilers training camp. The helmet still displays the most important decal of them all...that being Hemsky's familiar #83 decal on the back and the Czech Republic flag on the right side. However it is missing the one that would have appeared on the left side along with a national flag on the back and the large Skoda Auto sponsor sticker that would have been applied across the very front of the helmet. Adhesive residue still exists on the front of the helmet from the sponsor sticker. Last but not least making up for the missing decals is a nice silver marker signature from Hemsky that flows across the top of the helmet. The helmet was obtained directly from Hemsky upon his return to the Oilers locker room for training camp and generously donated for our charity auctions and will come complete with a letter of authenticity from the Edmonton Oilers Hockey Club. In addition the item has an Edmonton Oilers Equipment Inventory Number (tamper evident decal) applied to it that reads EOHC - 4251 which corresponds to the Letter of Authenticity. Please note that this helmet is sold for collectible and display purposes only and is not intended to be used as protective head gear. In addition please note this helmet was previously up for auction a few years ago however was never paid for by the winning bidder so it is being relisted.
