To commemorate the 10th Anniversary of Hockey Fights Cancer, the National Hockey League (NHL) and the National Hockey League Players' Association (NHLPA) are conducting a unique on-line auction of NHL All-Star themed memorabilia, with proceeds benefiting Hockey Fights Cancer.
We are proud to offer fans and collectors across the globe the opportunity to own a piece of history … a signed copy of ‘Blood Feud: Detroit Red Wings v. Colorado Avalanche, The Inside Story of Pro Sports' Nastiest and Best Rivalry of its Era"
In the late 1990s and early into the next century, the rivalry between the Detroit Red Wings and Colorado Avalanche was one of the most competitive in professional sports. From 1996-2002, the teams combined to win five Stanley Cups, and met five times in the Playoffs. Now, Adrian Dater, author of "Blood Feud: Detroit Red Wings vs. Colorado Avalanche, The Inside Story of Pro Sports' Nastiest and Best Rivalry of its Era" is auctioning off a signed copy to benefit Hockey Fights Cancer. But not just any signed copy!
This book contains signatures from many of the top stars from both teams, along with coaches and team personnel including Scotty Bowman, Marc Crawford, Dave Lewis, Bob Hartley, Ken Holland and Jim Devellano.
Player signatures include those of Steve Yzerman, Joe Sakic, Peter Forsberg, Nicklas Lidstrom, Darren McCarty, Kris Draper, Rob Blake, Larry Murphy, Sergei Fedorov, Martin Lapointe, Milan Hejduk, Chris Drury, Brendan Shanahan, Adam Foote, Alex Tanguay, Chris Simon, Mike Ramsey, Chris Osgood, Dan Hinote, Greg de Vries, Craig Wolanin, Jeff Odgers, Jon Klemm, Brent Severyn, Troy Murray, Stephane Yelle.
In addition to the author's signature, it also contains signatures from other members of the media including Woody Paige, Mark Kiszla, Terry Frei and Bob Wojnowski.
The book has been toted all over North America since it was published late in 2006, so the condition is not perfect. There is a wine stain on the side of the pages, and the cover has some wear. But overall, it is in pretty good condition.
On behalf of the NHL, NHLPA and Hockey Fights Cancer we would like to thank you for your generous participation and support of this worthy cause.
