The Washington Capitals, with the help of the Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration, are offering Maryland drivers the unique opportunity to bid on official Caps license plates, each displaying a number between 0001 and 0100. Proceeds from the auction of the Caps Maryland license plates will benefit Washington Capitals Charities.
Created in 2000, Washington Capitals Charities offers unique resources and programs to other charities and organizations on behalf of the Washington Capitals. The mission of Washington Capitals Charities is to create, maintain and support community programs in the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area that encourage participation in hockey, serve to educate youth, assist those who are less fortunate and focus on health and wellness.
To bid on a Caps Maryland license plate, you must be a registered driver in the state of Maryland and possess a vehicle with a valid Maryland registration. The Caps license plate may be displayed on a passenger car, multipurpose vehicle or a truck weighing up to and including one ton. Drivers may not display the Caps license plate on a motorcycle, boat or trailer.
If you place the winning bid for a Caps Maryland license plate, you will be required to provide payment and a completed license plate application with valid vehicle information and Maryland registration. Applications may be:
