This Go Green Night AUTHENTIC Nathan Gerbe #14 Carolina Hurricanes jersey was worn in pre-game warm-ups prior to the game against the Buffalo Sabres on March 22, 2016. The jersey is autographed and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity. It is green, size 58. On May 6, 2008, Gerbe signed his first professional contract, a three-year contract with the Buffalo Sabres.ÿHe scored his first NHL preseason goal in a loss to theÿMontreal Canadiensÿon September 22. On December 6, 2008, he was recalled by the Sabres, and played in his first NHL regular season game, a win over the Tampa Bay Lightning. On December 13, Gerbe recorded his first NHL point against theÿNew Jersey Devilsÿby assisting aÿDrew Staffordÿgoal.ÿGerbe was awarded theÿDudley "Red" Garrett Memorial Awardÿfor rookie of the year in theÿ2008?09 seasonÿof theÿAHL. He scored his first career goal on December 9, 2009, against theÿWashington Capitals.ÿOn April 26, 2010, he scored his first playoff goal against theÿBoston Bruins. On January 21, 2011, he scored two goals in five seconds against theÿNew York Islanders, setting a franchise record for the fastest two goals by one player. On June 29, 2011, Gerbe re-signed with the Buffalo Sabres to a three-year deal. Upon completion of theÿlockoutÿshortenedÿ2012?13ÿseason, Gerbe was placed onÿwaiversÿby the Sabres on July 3, 2013, with the intention of buying out the remainder of his contract. A free agent, Gerbe later agreed to a one-year, two way contract with the Carolina Hurricanes on July 26, 2013. All proceeds benefit the Kids ?N Community Foundation.
