Description
This Go Green Night AUTHENTIC Jordan Staal #11 Carolina Hurricanes Green Jersey is autographed and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity. It is a green, size 58 jersey worn during warm-ups before the game against the Columbus Blue Jackets on March 29, 2014. In the 2006 NHL Entry Draft, Staal was selected second overall by the Pittsburgh Penguins. Jordan became the third among the four Staal brothers to be drafted into the NHL after his older brothers Marc and Eric. He made an immediate jump from junior hockey to the NHL in the 2006-2007 season at the age of 18. In Staal?s rookie season, there was much speculation that he would return to the junior league before playing his 10th game, but due to his strong play, the Penguins chose to keep him for the remainder of the season. In 2007, Staal participated in the NHL YoungStars Game during the All-Star festivities and scored his first NHL career hat trick against the Toronto Maple Leafs which made him the youngest player in league history to score a hat trick at 18 years and 153 days old. He represented Canada at the 2007 World Championships, winning a gold medal alongside brother Eric. He won the Stanley Cup with the Penguins on June 12, 2009. Staal was traded to the Carolina Hurricanes in exchange for Brandon Sutter, Brian Dumoulin and the Hurricanes 8th overall selection at the 2012 NHL Entry Draft. This is Staal?s second season with the Carolina Hurricanes, with 39 points including 15 goals. All proceeds from this auction will benefit the Carolina Hurricanes Kids ?N Community Foundation, Passage Home and SEEDS.
