This Go Green Night AUTHENTIC Andrej Sekera #4 Carolina Hurricanes Green Jersey is autographed and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity. It is a green, size 56 jersey worn during warm-ups before the game against the Columbus Blue Jackets on March 29, 2014. Sekera was drafted by the Buffalo Sabres in the third round, 71st overall, in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft. On July 14, 2006, he signed a three-year contract with the Sabres. Sekera recorded his first NHL goal on November 28, 2007 against St. Louis Blues goalie Manny Legace. In 2009 he was selected to the Slovakian Men's Ice Hockey Olympic team for the February 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, Canada. On July 19, 2011, he signed a four-year contract with the Sabres worth 11 million dollars, and by doing so, avoided salary arbitration. On June 30, 2013, during the 2013 NHL Entry Draft, Sekera was traded by the Sabres to the Carolina Hurricanes in exchange for the 35th overall pick and Jamie McBain. In 2014 he was again selected to the Slovakian Men's Ice Hockey Olympic team for the February 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia. In his first season with the Hurricanes Sekera has 44 points, 33 of them assists. All proceeds from this auction will benefit the Carolina Hurricanes Kids ?N Community Foundation, Passage Home and SEEDS.
