Description

This Carolina Hurricanes 2011 All-Star Game mini-mega ticket signed by Eric Staal #12, Cam Ward #30, Jeff Skinner #53 and Jamie McBain #4 comes with a Certificate of Authenticity. Eric Staal was drafted second overall by the Carolina Hurricanes in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft. He led the Hurricanes in points during the 2006 Stanley Cup Playoffs with 28 points and has made four All-Star appearances since 2007. He was a member of the gold medal Canadian team in the 2007 IIHF World Championship. Staal was named team captain on January 20, 2010, becoming the fifth Hurricanes captain since the team relocated to Raleigh. Near the end of the 2015-16 season, Staal was traded to the New York Rangers. During the subsequent offseason, he signed a three-year contract with the Minnesota Wild as a free agent. Upon finishing his junior career in the WHL, Ward signed a multi-year contract with the Hurricanes and played for the Hurricanes' AHL affiliate at the time the Lowell Lock Monsters. He joined the Hurricanes for the 2005-2006 season in a backup role to goalie Martin Gerber. Ward completed his NHL rookie season with 14 wins and 8 losses and led the Hurricanes to a Stanley Cup victory in 2006. He became the first rookie goaltender to lead his team to the Stanley Cup since Patrick Roy in 1986 and the first rookie goaltender to win the Conn Smyth Trophy since Hextall in 1987. After his outstanding season, Ward became the Hurricanes starting goaltender for the 2006-2007 season. He was a member of the 2007 Canadian IIHF World Championship team that won gold against Finland and a member of the 2008 Canadian IIHF World Championship team that won silver against Russia. Ward was the first overall pick in the 2011 NHL All-Star Game Fantasy draft, selected by All-Star Game Captain, Eric Staal. He was also credited with an empty-net goal against the New Jersey Devils on December 26, 2011, becoming the 10th goalie in NHL history to do so. On February 27, 2015, Ward played his 500th NHL game. Jeff Skinner was drafted 20th overall in the OHL Entry Draft by the Kitchener Rangers in 2008. He led the Rangers in goal scoring in his rookie year and helped Team Canada capture gold in the 2009 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament. Two years later in 2010, Skinner was drafted 7th overall by the Carolina Hurricanes. He scored his first NHL career point on October 8, 2010 with an assist on Tuomo Ruutu's goal. Skinner scored his first NHL career goal against Jonathan Bernier in his fifth game of the season. He participated in the 2011 All-Star Game becoming the youngest All-Star selection ever. On June 22, 2011, Skinner was awarded the Calder Memorial Trophy as the NHL's top rookie. In 2012, Skinner extended his deal with the Hurricanes to six years. Jamie McBain was drafted in the third round, 63rd overall, in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft by the Carolina Hurricanes. In March 2009, he signed a three-year entry-level contract with the Hurricanes. He scored his first NHL goal in 2010 with one second remaining in overtime against the Pittsburgh Penguins. In May 2012, the Hurricanes signed McBain to a two-year contract extension after he led all Hurricanes defensemen with 19 assists and 27 points. He temporarily played for the Finnish club Lahti Pelicans during the 2012-13 NHL lockout. McBain was traded to the Buffalo Sabres during the 2013 NHL Entry Draft in exchange for defenseman Andrej Sekera. All proceeds benefit the Kids 'N Community Foundation, the Carolina Hurricanes charitable arm.
