Description

Welcome to the Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation 2014 Hockey Fights Cancer Charity Auction in support of the Kids With Cancer Society and charities across Oil Country! Show your support in the fight against cancer by bidding on this Ben Scrivens #30 - Autographed Edmonton Oilers Game Used 2nd Period Puck From His 59 Save Shut-out NHL Regular Season Shut-out Record Game vs San Jose Sharks on January 29th, 2014. On this night hockey fans at the game and millions more watching at home were treated to an Oilers 3-0 home ice victory over the Sharks thanks to the spectacular goaltending clinic by Ben Scrivens. It was Scrivens' first shutout with the Oilers, his fourth of the season and the fifth of his career. The 59-save shutout over 60 minutes broke the NHL record for most saves in a shut-out previously held by Phoenix Coyotes goaltender Mike Smith, who made 54 saves in a 2-0 win against the Columbus Blue Jackets on April 3, 2012. He also set an Edmonton Oilers franchise record for the most saves in a game, surpassing the previous record of 56 saves set by Bill Ranford during the 1993 season. Although this is not the last puck used in the game this particular official Edmonton Oilers NHL Game Puck was used during the 2nd period of the game. Once the puck was put out of play at the discretion of the NHL on ice game officials working the contest it was then given to the NHL time keepers bench staff who promptly labelled it with the details of the game and period it was used on a custom made puck label which was then applied to the back of the puck. The puck was then given to Edmonton Oilers equipment staff immediately following the game for donation to our online charity auctions. Recently it was then autographed by Ben Scrivens at a private team organized autograph session and is ready for display in one lucky fan's collection! The puck is one of eight received by the team (not including goal pucks) following the game and will come complete with a letter of authenticity from the Edmonton Oilers Hockey Club and Edmonton Oilers Authentic Inventory Hologram #9468 applied to the back of the puck. Here is your chance to pick up one very amazing Edmonton Oilers game used puck from one of the most exciting nights from the 2013-14 Oilers season! Last but not least it will also come with the 8x10 un-signed photo shown.
