Welcome to USA Hockey-MeiGray Group's 2006 International Ice Hockey Federation World Junior Championship Team USA Jersey Auction.
The 2006 IIHF World Junior Championship was held in Vancouver, Kelowna, and Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada from December 26, 2005 through January 5, 2006. Team USA lost in the Bronze Medal game on January 3, 2006, falling 4-2 to Finland.
The USA Hockey-MeiGray Group Game-Worn Authentication Program is proud to offer fans and collectors across the globe the opportunity to own a piece of history ... the one set of navy jerseys worn during the tournament.
The U.S. World Junior Championship Men's Team wore this set of navy jerseys in three games:
- December 28, 2005, 6-5 victory over Finland, Preliminary Round.
- December 31, 2005, 3-2 loss to Canada, Preliminary Round.
- January 2, 2006, 2-1 victory over Czech Republic, Quarterfinal Round.
This auction is for the actual navy jersey worn by #9, Bobby Ryan.
Ryan played in all three games wearing this Navy jersey. Ryan was drafted second overall by the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft. He scored 30 or more goals in his first four NHL seasons. He currently plays for the Ottawa Senators.
This jersey, a Size 60, has been registered in the USA Hockey-MeiGray Game-Worn Authentication Program as number USA01810.
There was one set of navy jerseys manufactured by Nike and prepared for use by the U.S. National Men's Team in the 2006 IIHF World Junior Championship. Each jersey offered in auction has been security-tagged with an individually serial-numbered USA Hockey-MeiGray Authentication Program inventory tag.
Proceeds will benefit the USA Hockey Foundation.
