This Military Appreciation Night AUTHENTIC Jeff Skinner #53 Carolina Hurricanes jersey was worn in pre-game warm-ups prior to the game against the St. Louis Blues on February 28, 2016. The jersey is autographed and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity. It is camouflage, size 58. Skinner was drafted 20th overall in the OHL Entry Draft by the Kitchener Rangers in 2008. He led the Rangers in goal scoring in his rookie year and helped Team Canada capture gold in the 2009 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament. Two years later in 2010, Skinner was drafted 7th overall by the Carolina Hurricanes. He scored his first NHL career point on October 8, 2010 with an assist on Tuomo Ruutu?s goal. Skinner scored his first NHL career goal against Jonathan Bernier in his fifth game of the season. He participated in the 2011 All-Star Game becoming the youngest All-Star selection ever. On June 22, 2011, Skinner was awarded the Calder Memorial Trophy as the NHL?s top rookie. In 2012, Skinner extended his deal with the Hurricanes to six years. All proceeds benefit the Kids ?N Community Foundation.
